VCS History and Principles
During its 35-year history, Video Cairo Sat has steadily expanded its service roster while adhering to the highest benchmarks in technology and personnel. VCS’s long-standing client relationships have been possible because of the company’s commitment to all aspects of the production chain, from concept to transmission. A comprehensive understanding of cross-platform media creation and distribution has been the key to Video Cairo Sat’s reputation as an innovator and dynamic partner.
In 1981, VCS became the first commercial satellite services provider in the Middle East. Since that time, it has provided a diverse suite of transmission solutions to clients around the globe, and built cooperative relationships with every carrier in the region. Today, Video Cairo Sat’s embracing of the latest technology continues, with a full complement of DSNG and High Definition production facilities and services catering to international clientele.
Technology alone cannot create top-rated programs, and VCS invests as much in its people as it does in equipment. From engineers and cameramen, to correspondents and producers, VCS trains personnel in all aspects of content creation, and allows them to find a niche in the industry that speaks directly to their talents. The staff is held to rigid standards of journalistic ethics and standards, and the company’s four founding principles apply to all of the team’s activities:
- Freedom of Expression
- Independence and Privatization of News Broadcasting
- Rejection of Fundamentalist Influences and Terrorism
- Encouragement of Trust and Partnerships Among Regional Media Interests
VCS has accumulated a long list of satisfied customers over the years, by providing the highest quality of technical service by a trained team of qualified personnel, aware of all necessary standards of ethics and journalism required to produce professional news and programming.
Video Cairo Sat takes pride in its core client services, but today turns its extended resources towards large-scale projects ranging from the establishment of regional news-gathering bureaus, to lobbying for and fostering progressive media laws in emerging broadcast markets. The VCS team is enthusiastic in the role it continues to play in developing regional media, and in working with partners to usher in the next chapter in dynamic, innovative journalism.
